Happy Birthday Lisa

Its my friend (and work collegue) Lisa's birthday today and I set myself the daunting task of making a card for her.
Why daunting I hear you ask (lol). Well, not only is it traditional for all the other girls in the office to sign (and therefore secretly judge) the card, but also Lisa is a fellow cardmaker and a very talented one at that, so that always puts extra pressure on!

So anyway, here it is!

Its my 1st attempt at colouring black hair and although I'm happy with the shading, overall its still a little too grey for my liking. But I'll keep practicing!

The image is a Sugar Nellie stamp called Strike A Pose and I've coloured her in with my ProMarkers. The DP is MME quite contrary (free with a mag). The punched edge is done with a Fiskars punch and everything else is from my stash.

All comments welcome. Thanks for looking

I am entering this in the following challenges:
The Sugar Bowl - Sketch and Girly
Fussy and Fancy - Celebration (2nd entry)
Passion For ProMarkers - Anything Goes (2nd entry)
Totally Gorjuss - As You Like It

I ♥ ProMarkers - Anything Goes
Crafty Creations - Use 3 or more dies/punches (Fiskars border punch and for sentiment I used circle and scaloped circle dies)

  3. She is lovely, I love the pose and your coloring is great. I am also learning to color and agree black hair is a challenge. One thing I found that helps with black hair shading is to add a bit of blue it adds just the right amount of shine and shading. I have one on my blog http://nanadonnascarddreams.blogspot.com/2011/08/asian-lady.html But most importantly I learn so much from Melissa's blog she is fantastic at Copic coloring http://melissamade2.blogspot.com/2011/07/imagination-has-no-age-tiddly-inks.html If you get a chance take a look around here blog

Thanks for joining us at Crafty Creations this week.
